I see clients in the office in Prosper, Texas.  I also provide telehealth appointments for clients who live in Texas or Washington state.

Clients can schedule 55 minute (1hr), 90 minute, 2 or 3 hour sessions.  Fridays are reserved for 3 hour intensive sessions.

If you are 15 minutes late to any appointment, the appointment will be considered a “no-show” and the card on file will be charged the session fee in full.   The service that you scheduled as this time was held exclusively for you.  If you are late to the session, no time will be added to the end of session to ensure that I am able to be on-time for the next client.

Everyone is entitled to cancel/reschedule their session for whatever reason. All clients must contact me via the portal to put in such request at least 24 hours before their scheduled appointment. If this request is received before 24 hours, there is no fee. However, if request is received after this timeframe, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100.00.

I am out of network with most major insurance plans.  I am currently in network with Aetna and will be until September of 2025.   All other plans are out of network. I do courtesy bill for those with out of network benefits (PPO plans).

Couples therapy is not usually covered by insurance because it is not considered medically necessary. In relationship therapy, the relationship is the client, not one individual.  For insurance to pay for therapy, there has to be medical necessity, an identified client with a diagnosed mental health disorder that is the focus of the couples/family therapy session.   The medical records belong to the identified client.  Some insurances will pay for couples/family therapy with a non-diagnostic code of Z-63.0 (Problems in relationship with spouse or partner).  In this case, there is still an identified client, but no mental health diagnosis necessary.  You will need to call your insurance to know what they will cover.

There are ways to make therapy more affordable

  • Schedule sessions bi-weekly instead of weekly.
  • Schedule longer sessions less often.  A lot can get done in a 90 minute session compared to a 1 hour session.
  • Do homework between sessions so that progress is quicker.
  • Use your insurance out of network benefits.  Many insurance plans cover out of network services.  Call your insurance to ask about out of network plans.
  • Use an HSA.  Health savings plans can help save money because they are usually tax deductible.

If you need EMDR, couples or sex therapy in Washington state, I am able to work with you via telehealth.  So, whether you are in Seattle, Kirkland, Redmond, Bothell or Spokane, we are able to work together towards your goals.  When you self-schedule through the online portal, know that there is a 2 hour time difference, so check which time zone you are in and plan accordingly.
